You can permanently delete your Bookmerang account and all of your data. Deletion cannot be undone.

Deleting from the app

1. Open the Bookmerang app and sign in to your account.
2. Go to the Settings tab.
3. In the Danger Zone section at the bottom, tap Delete my account.
4. Read the warning and confirm with Delete account.

As soon as you confirm, your account and data are deleted from the server and the app returns you to the sign-in screen.

If you cannot access the app

If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, send an email titled "account deletion request" to privacy@bookmerang.app from the email address registered on your account. We complete such requests within 30 days at the latest, after verifying your identity.

Deleting your data without deleting your account

You can delete what you saved and keep your account. The app's interface is in Turkish; the original labels are given in parentheses.

• A single item: open the item, tap the menu in the top right and choose Delete (Sil).
• Everything you saved: Settings (Ayarlar) → Danger Zone (Tehlikeli Bölge) → Delete all records (Tüm Kayıtları Sil). Your account, settings and topics remain; all saved links and the text extracted from them are permanently deleted.

You can also request this by writing to privacy@bookmerang.app from the email address registered on your account.

Data that is deleted

Deletion permanently removes, in one step:

• Your account: email address, name, profile photo URL and password hash if any
• All saved items: links, text extracted from pages, AI-generated summaries, titles and tags, and your own notes
• Your topics and the history of items assigned to them
• Your reminder history and feedback
• Your settings, sessions, share key and notification key
• Any of your data waiting in the processing queue (analysis jobs and notification contents)
• The local copy on your device, your recent searches and your session details

Data that cannot be removed immediately

Backups	Encrypted database backups are kept for at most 90 days; your data disappears from them within that period.
Server logs	IP address and request logs are deleted after 14 days.
AI provider records	OpenAI retains submitted content for abuse monitoring for at most 30 days.
Anonymous metering	Cost rows recording which operation used how many tokens remain; their link to you is severed and they contain no content.
